Advent – Day 6
Dec 06 in Advent
Today, we’re going to focus on making room with our time. Time is something that passes so quickly! Carve out space and time to spend on things that are truly important, to bring life to those around you.
Living each day as if it were your last. If that were the case, what would your thoughts consist of? Helps you to consider those things/ones that are truly important. What would you regret not finishing? What legacy would you be leaving behind? Have you said all you needed to say? Taught all you needed to teach? I am not talking about the infamous bucket list of experiences, I am thinking along the lines of your loved ones. Have you told them how much they mean to you? Have you imparted all the wisdom to your children that you have learnt through experience, through both your successes and your failures? What heritage would you be leaving behind?
One of my fondest memories is as a little girl my dad getting a mattress out onto the terrace on a clear skied night and lying with him there tucked under a blanket gazing up into the stars. Priceless!
Our greatest investment in life is people. One preacher once said, ‘if you were told that the government was going to change the currency in your country one day soon but didn’t tell you when, however, when it did happen you would no longer be able to exchange the old money for the new, what would you do? He replied, you would exchange most of your money into the new currency and leave just enough to live on each day. He went on to say, it is the same with us, we know our time on earth is in His hands, you came with nothing and leave with nothing, the only thing you can take with you is people’. There you have it, your only worthwhile investment.
