Lent Day 14: A time for Singing

Mar 24 in Lent

“The winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land”…. It is the first day of Spring!

What words do we associate with Spring? Hope, growth, renewal, revival, new birth, bloom and blossom, sun, cleaning, freshness, crispness, resurrection, joy, love birds, nests, daylight, butterflies, warmth, a new song, new beginnings …

To every struggle there comes a set end, it won’t last forever. Every journey, however long and hard and however great the obstacles we learn to overcome on the way, will come one day to a finish line, where you reach the appointed destination and are able at last to enter your Canaan (God’s promised land) His rest.

He leads us to springs of living water, “For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills…” Deuteronomy 8:7 and your heart from its abundance will sing a new song, you will see and be radiant, your heart will thrill and rejoice.

Restoration came after the wilderness….“Then I will give her her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor (trouble) as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, as in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt” Hosea 2:15.

He will fill your mouth with a new song.
