Proverbs 22

Jun 11 in Proverbs

v.29 ‘do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before Kings. The Book of Daniel speaks of him as a young man of an excellent spirit and he did stand before kings. Three in fact.

What makes you excellent? v.1 the excellence of a good name. You choose a good reputation. It is a result of good character, however can be easily lost through sin and foolish actions. v.4 excellence of humility and fear of God. Leaning on God for wisdom not assuming that we know it all so that you may excel in all that you do v.3 excellence of prudence, means discretion, foresight, caution…not making hasty decisions but having purpose behind what you do v.11 excellence of a pure heart and grace on your lips.

A clean heart = clean mouth. Grace is giving good to someone even if they don’t deserve it. God saved us before we said sorry to Him…that is grace.

Only thing stopping you from having an excellent spirit is you!
