Proverbs 30

Sep 08 in Proverbs

Agur learnt from observation, from people, animals, insects…. what things to avoid and what truths to apply to his life. He describes the generation that is 1. Disrespectful to parents. 2. Have no need for God or sense of sin 3. Are proud 4. Are violent with no pity for others. All things Jesus said the world would be like at the end of the age. The quest of mankind is like a leech that sticks itself to a horse’s nose or tongue and sucks its blood and is never satisfied always wants more… man is always looking to exalt itself, never satisfied, always wants more… me, me, me….these are the three things that always cause man to fall … the lusts of the eyes… it looks good and inviting. The lusts of the flesh… it tastes good! I want it!… the pride of life… I make myself God no one tells me what to do… I know it all… don’t need God! And continue to miss the point that God loves us like a father that wants the best for us, it does mean we choose the hard way but He is building in us His strength of character, preparing us for the future, teaching us that there are better treasures to be had and the way to true and complete satisfaction. His way brings no regret! You will never wish you chose a different way, it’s worth it!
